Through the years, Golfing Country has had an opportunity to meet designers
of golf courses world-wide and to have a conversation with them on tape.

Tom Fazio has designed so many great and award-winning golf courses, that he doesn't even really have a phone number published. Here we spoke with him not long ago in Florida, while he attended the PGA Merchandise Show

Having had years of growing experience, Tom Doak explains how he got Pacific Dunes to design. Doak's company is Renaissance Golf Design -- you'll find him there.

Almost every other course in Florida is a Ron Garl Design. He is now doing a lot of courses in China, look for Nine Dragons in Shanghai and elsewhere world-wide.

A champion in every sense of the word. James Braid designed courses throughout the British Isles; he never flew, just boarded the train and went for about one day and finished up right then. Annika considers golf course design to be another avenue for her to share her passion of the game. She is noted for her design in Mission Hills, Shenzhen, China, and others to date.

Artistic talent in creating such beautiful golf courses, among them The Hideaway, Indian Wells, Fantasy Springs, Alcaidesa in Spain and at least 18 courses in England, plus others. Clive was a commentator for the BBC for years, and played golf, achieving a hole in one in the Masters.

Owner and course designer of the championship golf course, The European Club, Pat Ruddy has designed many well know golf courses throughout Ireland, and he is fun to know! We have featured his designs including Glashedy Course at Ballyliffin, Druids Glen, Donegal, and Sandy Hills at Rosapenna Hotel and Golf Links.

Here he is talking about Medicine Hole GC in North Dakota.

When you think of playing golf in Michigan, chances are you will be playing a Jerry Matthews and/or his father Bruce Matthews course - For instance, Bucks Run, St. Ives, Elk Ridge, Hawk Hollow, Grand Haven, and the list goes on and on. He designed Chena Bend in Alaska, which we had on our Golfing Country.
